How Cosmetic Injectables Can Give You a Confidence Boost

Plenty of research has been done on the topic of correlation between perception of beauty and self-confidence. This isn’t surprising since we are all aware that how we present ourselves to the world can change not only how we feel inside, but also how others treat us and think of us.

In a study published by the Dermatologic Surgery journal, participants were chosen to receive anti-wrinkle injections on the glabellar area, forehead and crow’s feet or injections of a placebo saline solution. Significant improvements in participants treated with anti-wrinkle injections were observed in answers to questions related to mood, body satisfaction, self-consciousness, appearance, attractiveness and sense of well-being. Increases in overall self-esteem were also observed in participants treated with anti-wrinkle injections.

We have long known the cosmetic enhancing benefits of injectable treatments, but studies like these now show us data confirming that these procedures can also improve people’s confidence and quality of life.

For a long time cosmetic procedures were associated with vanity, a word that has a somewhat negative connotation, yet we all have the desire to look and feel good. Research shows that low self-esteem has been linked to a diminished sense of wellbeing, so when you take measures to boost your confidence, whether that’s joining the gym or opting for cosmetic injectables, you’ll feel better about how you look. This positive effect may lead to better performance at work, improved social relationships and a higher life satisfaction in general.

It is natural for us to want our outside appearance to reflect the way we feel inside, so very often it isn’t something specific in our bodies that bothers us, but the way that we feel we are perceived by others. For example, feeling we look “angry” or “sad” is often used to describe concerns with frown lines or a downturned mouth; looking “tired” can relate to issues such as volume loss in the midface area or tear troughs. These concerns can be easily addressed by a qualified and experienced Cosmetic Injector.

Cosmetic injectables are a great way to obtain fantastic results without going through the downtime, risks, pain and expenses associated with plastic surgery – no wonder they’re becoming increasingly popular year after year. Dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections have a wide range of applications including enhancing and restoring lost volume, reshaping areas such as nose and jaw, augmenting lips and cheeks, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, reducing eye bags, improving skin texture and much more.

It’s important to remember that cosmetic procedures can definitely help boost confidence and improve self-esteem, but they are not a therapeutic treatment for people who are struggling with body image disorders and emotional or mental health issues. Everyone who’s looking for injectable treatments, especially younger people in their early 20s, must receive special attention and their reasons for looking for the procedure must be fully analysed to make sure their cosmetic concerns and expectations are realistic.

When done correctly by a highly skilled professional, injectables can provide subtle and natural results. To book a consultation with Nurse Julie, please email us at julie@jbcosmetic.co.uk.
