We have all heard of the term ‘nose job’. Well now, there is now a way to have a nose job without surgery. Advances in cosmetic procedure have evolved to enable a safe procedure to be carried out with a quick recovery and minimal time off work or downtime. Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be used to improve the shape of the tip of the nose and bridge where surgery is not desired. It can be also performed following a rhinoplasty to correct main deformities or issues and is used by patients of all ethnicities.

  • Who is a good candidate for nose correction?

This treatment is considered for patients with a treatment-suitable aesthetic defect, or a defect resulting from a surgical rhinoplasty (either primary or secondary). Although the procedure is usually performed for aesthetic purposes, it can also be used to correct some birth defects.
  • How does it work?

A dermal filler treatment can make the nose appear smaller by making it look straighter. It is frequently used to increase the height and definition of the nasal bridge, as well as augmenting other precisely defined areas of the nose. By using a dermal filler, Julie can reshape and contour the nose to achieve results that were previously only ever possible with plastic surgery. Non -surgical nose reshaping is mainly suitable for those who need refinement of their nose shape.
  • What happens during the procedure

The procedure fills in depressed areas on the nose, lifting the angle of the tip or smoothing the appearance of bumps on the bridge. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is an augmentation procedure, so it cannot reduce the size of someone's nose. It is a cosmetic procedure and is not used to correct functional problems with the nose, such as breathing difficulties.
  • How long does the procedure take?

For injecting and placing the soft-tissue filler typically take 20 to 30 minutes to perform after an initial 15 minutes of numbing. After the procedure you can resume normal life activities immediately.
  • Will it hurt?

Everybody’s pain threshold is different and Julie will apply numbing cream to the area. In general, the procedure is fairly quick so any discomfort will be for a short amount of time.
  • Are there any side effects?

As the procedure is non-invasive, bruising and swelling are minimal. The procedure is not meant to decrease nose size. Minimal bruising may occur which usually resolves in 5 – 7 days. The nose may be tender for 3 – 5 days following treatment.
  • Is Non-Surgical Nose Shaping an alternative to a traditional Rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty cannot replace a traditional rhinoplasty if your deformity is significant or the nose needs to be reduced in size. It is, however, an effective way of correcting some deformities of the nose especially following a previous rhinoplasty when you may want to avoid a further revision surgery. Julie can advise you on a consultant plastic surgeon to meet your needs.
  • What can a dermal filler injection do for my nose?

    • Augmentation a flat nasal bridge (depressed dorsum)
    • Add projection of the nasal tip
    • Correction of retracted columella
    • Small reduction of nostril size
    • Reduction of nasal hump
    • Filling a nasal sidewall depression
    • The elevation of a saddle nose deformity caused by a failed primary rhinoplasty
    • Traumatic injury
  • What are the benefits of non surgical rhinoplasty

The main advantage is that the downtime is around two days and the results are natural and balanced without having to undergo any invasive surgery.
  • What about the results?

The results are first and foremost natural. Non surgical nose shaping will enhance the appearance of the nose ensuring that it is more aesthetically balanced with your features.
  • How long do the results last?

The results can last from 9 to 18 months.
  • How much does it cost?

A 1ml vial of dermal filler costs £250.00.
