    No, Julie uses non-permanent fillers that last up 6 months in the lips. Some people can be good retainers for this product, so it can sometimes last longer for them, something that most clients are happy with.

  • What training has JBCosmetic had for lip augmentation?

    Julie has had a strong mix of theoretical and practical training for injecting fillers. She first was taught in Harley Street in 2004. When she moved to Bristol she worked with Mr Robert Warr and Mr Anthony MacQuillan who are both consultant plastic and cosmetic surgeons. Julie keeps up to date and attends conferences and study days throughout the year. There are certificates on show in her clinics and you are welcome to see the originals on request
  • Is there anything I need to know before I have the treatment?

    JBCOSMETIC advises you to avoid using aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs a couple of days before your treatment (unless they are taken for chronic medical conditions).

    Avoiding these medications will reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the point of injection. Dermal fillers are contraindicated in patients who are pregnant or breast-feeding, have had recent treatment with other fillers in the last 6/12 months and laser and skin peels in the last 1-2 years, suffer from cold sores, highly allergic patients, patients with auto-immune diseases or those with keloids or hypertrophic scars.     Julie recommends you minimise the intake of alcohol, vitamin E, ginseng, green tea, & gingko biloba which can all make you more prone to bruising.
  • What are the side effects of lip augmentation?

  • How many lip procedures has JBCOSMETIC performed?

    Julie has performed thousands of treatments over the years and cannot be exact about the number of lips. She sees many brides to be and has treated some celebrities, including our very own Bristol's Josie Gibson, but that's she can tell you!
  • How long does the treatment take?

    The injection process takes around 30-40 minutes
  • What happens during the lip augmentation procedure?

    The dermal filler is injected into the lips in small amounts using a very fine needle. The hyaluronic gel provides natural volume create fuller lips. You will notice a difference immediately
  • Are there any risks or side effects with dermal filler treatments?

    Millions of treatments have been performed with hyaluronic dermal fillers in the past and product related reactions are rare.

    There are some side effects which may occur after any injection; redness (this will reduce quickly), swelling (this is very mild), discomfort (reduced by the numbing cream), itching (rare), bruising (Julie has tricks to prevent bruising) at the injection site and typically resolve spontaneously. Any skin injection procedures carry a small risk of infection but it is very rare.

  • How long will the effects of lip augmentation treatment last?

    One of the great advantages of dermal fillers is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Julie does not agree with permanent lip fillers for the reasons that it cannot be undone, the patient has less control of the appearance and for the fact that the long term effects of permanent lip fillers have not been established,The effects of lip enhancement are around and up to 6 months. Some people can be good retainers for this product, so it can sometimes last longer for them. The length of the treatment depends on a number of factors including;
