Exploring the concept of empathy in aesthetic nursing Brackenbury, J
Journal of Aesthetic Nursing | Vol 5 | No 7 | September 2016 | pp 349–353
Empathy is a complex, multidimensional concept that has moral, cognitive, emotive and behavioural components. Effective communication is central to the provision of compassionate, high-quality nursing care in all disciplines, including aesthetic medicine. Empathy skills play a considerable part in developing beneficial nurse-patient relationships and can be used for many situations in the clinical setting. However, there is a lack of literature surrounding empathy and non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
